K-5 Physical Education

My name is Sasha Garton. I teach K-5 Physical Education at Windsor. This is my 14th year at Windsor.
I am a very active person and believe in setting a good example of fitness and health.
Windsor Physical Education is about teaching students how to be healthy and stay healthy for a lifetime. Students learn about exercise, sports, healthy lifestyles, the human body, nutrition, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
I stress effort above talent and ability. I want students to know that they can be very successful in life if they have a strong work ethic and always give their best effort!
I encourage students to be active outside of school. There are many opportunities in Amarillo for students to learn about and participate in a variety of sports. Being involved in these activities not only keeps the children healthy, but also teaches them about being a part of a team.
Our 4th and 5th graders can join our fitness club that takes place on Tuesdays. This is a way to help keep the kids active and healthy, teach them about being a part of a team , and give them something fun to do after school.
We do not dress out at Windsor, however, I do expect students to come prepared for class with athletic shoes.  This helps to ensure student comfort and keeps them from developing blisters and/or injury.
Please write a note or call the school and leave a message when your child is sick or hurt.  To ensure I get the message on time, please be sure to call before 8:30.
Thank you for all you do to keep your children active and healthy!
Contact me any time at my school email.
